"This is Michella and this is Lia. They're helping us with lighting," Miku said, dragging over two girls her age. Everyone greeted them. You have a small wave.
"Just tell us if there's anything we can do to help," Michella smiled.
"We're going to get costumes ready. Can you get any students in or ready the music? Here's my MP3 player," Gumi asked.
"Of course," Lia said.
"We decided to make all of the outfits a bit different," Gumi said, handing out the outfits. You all changed in the bathrooms, since there was no other available space. When you emerged, you saw all the other girls. You were all wearing layered skirts, some as short as tutus, some longer. Your skirt went down to mid-thigh. All the girls wore collared shirts with the sleeves rolled up. Vests went over the shirt, along with a bow, a tie, or a bow tie. The skirts and ribbon/tie/bow tie was in a particular colour. Meiko had red, Rin had yellow, Gumi had green, Luka had brown, Miku had teal, and you had navy (AN: Do you like navy? I like navy. Navy is good. Navy is my favourite colour.). You and Gumi had bow ties. Meiko and Luka had ties. Rin and Miku had bows.
"I like bow ties," you said, fixing it in the mirror. "Bow ties are cool."
In addition to the different lengths of skirts, neck accessories, and colours, your hair was also different. Gumi had two longer segments of hair in the front. Miku had twin tails. Meiko had short, loose hair. Luka had her hair long and loose. Rin had a giant bow and bobby pins. You had your hair in a high ponytail with a seemingly invisible elastic. You all wore boots that went bellow your knees. Not too short, not too tall.
The guys were looking pretty sharp. They all had long black pants, a black vest, white shirt, and neck accessory. Kaito had a blue scarf, Len had a yellow bow tie, Gakupo had a purple tie.
Michella came running in.
"It's all good to go for sound," she said.
"Let's go Vocaloid!" Miku said. "Ichi!" (One)
"Ni!" Yelled Rin. (Two)
"San!" Said Len. (Three)
"Yon!" You said. (Four)
"Go!" Kaito said. (Five)
"Roku!" Meiko yelled. (Six)
"Nana!" Gumi exclaimed. (Seven)
"Hachi!" Said Gakupo. (Eight)
"Kyu!" Said Luka, lastly. (Nine)
"It's showtime," Len said.
You went out to the courtyard, jogging, since you were all to excited to walk. But the energy left you when you saw the attendance.
"Where is everyone?" Miku asked.
"No one came," Gumi said, crestfallen. Not a single person sat on the green grass. The only people there were Lia and Michella.
"We said that we were going to put on a concert. We're not going back on our word," you said, turning back to the group.
You led the way up on stage. Not now, when you had come so close.
Lia started up the music. The same music. The music you'd practiced to over and over. Your music. You needed to do this. You didn't need an audience. You had each other.
You turned around on your beats. First Gumi and Meiko. Then Luka and Gakupo. Next was Kaito and Miku. The the Kagamine twins. And then you, at the tip of the V.
"Even the tiniest dream," Gumi sang.
"Someday may soon grow strong," Luka followed.
"If helped by everyone's hands," Kaito chimed in.
"Never give up, never breaking down," Meiko sung.
"Now tell me, where's the good in sadnesst?" Gakupo sang.
"Let's allow these hopes fly sky high!" Miku followed.
"Change! Let's hope for a bright dawn," Rin sang.
"Light! What good is to to stay sad?" Len chimed in.
"There's nothing I can do by myself
But joined hands can let our dreams fly," you sang, right at the front of the stage.
"Closed up in sadness, that isn't you
What good is it to give up and cry?
When things start to fall apart
Don't fall when we can fly
Closed up in sadness, how is that fun?
Without a smile, you become boring," you sang all together, voices echoing in the yard. Apart from Lia and Michella, you saw a young girl - maybe five years old - by the gate, watching intently.
"I know," Len sung.
"I know," Rin echoed.
"That maybe," Kaito sung.
"Someday," Luka and Gumi echoed.
"We can," Miku sang.
"Together," Gakupo and Meiko echoed.
"Someday take flight!" You sang.
"Moving forward together; our hopes will bloom," the group sung.
"Even after a raging storm," Gumi, Gakupo, and Kaito sang.
"A lotus flower continues to bloom," Meiko, Luka, and Miku sang.
"Together, we can make our way through," you sung with the Kagamine twins.
"Even a lonely flower," sang the girls, excluding you.
"Can still grow strong," the boys sang.
"But my petals have not bloomed
I still need help to soar," you sang.
"Even a newborn baby bird
Still has the chance to fly
Up in the air, relying on big strong wings
It just needs some time
Just trust me, it'll all be fine," the group sung.
"I know," Rin sang.
"I know," Len echoed.
"That we," Luka sang.
"We can," Kaito and Gumi echoed.
"Someday," Gakupo sang.
"Take flight," Miku and Meiko echoed.
"With our combined stregnth!" You sang, voice echoing, even if there wasn't a microphone in sight.
"Someday in our future; hopes will bloom," the group sung.
"Slowly the petals open revealing a strong rose," you sang, all attention on you.
"Closed up in sadness, that isn't you," Rin sang.
"What good is it to give up and cry?" Len sung.
"When things start to fall apart
Dont fall when we can fly!" You sang.
"Even a newborn baby bird

You turned to face the audience, standing in a line. You're audience was small. Lia and Michella, a boy and girl in grade 12, a shy grade 10 girl, and three friends in 11. Those who were there applauded however.
It turns out that Lia had caught the whole show on camera.
"If you want to books your popularity, you can create a YouTube channel," Lia said, as the film played on her camera.
"We had to start from somewhere," Len said. "Just be glad it isn't rock bottom."
"What if we had an audience to start with, and it was a 'coincidence' that we had the concert that day?" Miku suggested.
"We have a school wide festival in two months. Would you care to preform then?" A girl asked, walking up to the group. "I'm the student council vice-president. I can make it happen, if you want."
"Then we have our next show," Luka said.
Len was right. At least you had a foothold.
"Just tell us if there's anything we can do to help," Michella smiled.

Kagamine Len X Best Friend!Reader
You walked to school with a tired expression on your face. It was the first day of your 2nd year of high school, and you disliked the feeling of returning to school after such a long break from it.
"______!" You heard your name being called from a voice you knew to well. Or voices, is more like it. You turned to see the Kagamine twins running towards you. You smiled at them and turned around to keep walking. Once they caught up to you, you were hugged from both sides.
"We missed you, ______!" They said in unison. You rolled your eyes.
"I saw you two a few days ago! You act like we haven't seen each other all summer!" They let go

How to Play Hooky (Len X Reader) Chapter 1
Len Kagamine is a local celebrity, of sorts. When he was seven, he and his twin sister Rin left school mid second-semester to sing on (country)’s Got Talent! By some miracle or otherwise, they made it all the way to the last round before finally getting knocked off. The winner? A blue-haired teen who sang a song about ice cream.
By the time that the twins returned home, it was almost time for the mega end-of-the-year test. The twins were a grade above you, but not for much longer. After missing almost a month of school, Rin had forgotten how to spell half the English language and Len couldn’t wrap his head around multiplication fo
